Colleen Dutson, DVM

Interest in Holistic Nutrition

Dr. Colleen grew up in Fairfax Station, Virginia. She graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech) in 2004 and moved to the East Bay area of California where she started in general medicine and volunteered through a local feral cat trap-and-release program. When she moved back to the east coast in 2007, she coordinated with a group to help open and serve as medical manager of a low-cost spay/neuter facility in Vass, NC. She continued her work in spay/neuter with SNAP-NC, a mobile spay/neuter practice serving central North Carolina. She is very happy to return to general medicine as a mobile practitioner with MLVS and keeps up with spay/neuter through her volunteer work with Operation Catnip. When not at work, Dr. Colleen is usually at a soccer game for one of her 3 kids or gardening, hoping to one day actually start that compost pile!
